For my final exhibition, I’ve been working closely with 11 volunteers from the Sunderland RNLI.

This project focuses on who they are in the quiet moments, between shouts, highlighting the dedication, humanity, and resilience behind what they do.

Spending time with the crew, I’ve been able to witness first-hand what their role really involves. From the calm in-between moments at the station to the sudden shift when a call comes in, and the weight of more serious shouts, it’s made me appreciate just how much they give, often without recognition.

These are people who leave their families in the middle of the night, step away from weekends, work, and everyday life, and go straight into unpredictable and sometimes dangerous situations to help others. It’s something most of us never see, but it happens all the time.

I wanted to create something that reflects that reality and does them justice.

To present the work at the level it deserves, I’ve been funding everything myself so far from printing, framing, and producing the first books. At the moment, I’ve spent around £650 on credit cards, and the costs are continuing to add up. This is much more than I first anticipated.

I’m raising funds to help cover:

Exhibition-quality printing

Frames and presentation materials

Production of the final books

If you feel able to support, even in a small way, it would really help me bring this project together and present it in the way these volunteers deserve.

And if I raise more than I need, any extra will be donated to the RNLI.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
