The National Portrait Gallery, London

I am delighted to be showing work as part of ‘Photo Portrait Now’ at The National Portrait Gallery in London.

Photo Portrait Now is a National Portrait Gallery partnership project with Northern Centre of Photography and Sunderland University, sponsored by the Bentley Foundation.

We connected with the National Portrait Gallery curators and leading photographers through talks, workshops and tours before creating new work in response to the 2025 Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize.

“The resulting works capture, question, and challenge ideas of place, community, relationships and belonging” — National Portrait Gallery.

The exhibition runs from the 7th May - 18th September 2026.

Lloyd, from Between Shouts

Between Shouts explores the lives of RNLI volunteers beyond emergency callouts, focusing on the individuals behind the role, capturing them within the environments that shape their lives outside of the lifeboat station. The series reveals personal narratives often unseen in documentary representations of rescues, emphasising how extraordinary responsibility intersects with everyday life. Through environmental portraiture, Between Shouts conveys the demands, challenges and human experience of volunteering.
